Loop Technology
Loop Technology are an industrial automation and robotics specialist with their headquarters in Dorchester, Dorset and with additional offices in Sheffield and Bristol. They are experts in robotics, machine vision and motion control and build highly advanced automated solutions for a range of Tier 1 OEM’s and household global names across the advanced manufacturing sector, including in industries such as aerospace, automotive and defence.
Loop Technology’s FibreLINE system is a revolutionary technology that delivers automated high-rate carbon fibre preforming, providing a way to produce lighter, more fuel-efficient aircraft at a pioneering new rate of production, with significantly less factory space used and more efficiency in the overall process compared to the alternative automated method. FibreLINE is installed at the NCC in Bristol as part of the Airbus ‘Wing of Tomorrow’ programme and it is also being installed at the COMPASS facility at the University of Sheffield’s AMRC, on the inaugural IHSS project with Boeing as lead partner, alongside Spirit AeroSystems. Another system is set to be installed for a North American aerospace customer shortly.
Loop Technology also provide automated laser cleaning and highly accurate robotic machining systems as well as bespoke automation solutions. They are partners with a range of global companies and institutions at the intersection of aerospace, robotics and advanced manufacturing including FANUC, KUKA, Zünd, Robotmaster, CleanLASER, MTC, Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre and the NCC.
