Eaton Mission Systems
Eaton Mission Systems Wimborne are extremely proud to have called Dorset our home for almost 90 years. Our origins as Flight Refuelling, later Cobham Mission Systems, are never forgotten and our opportunities now as part of the Aerospace Group, within Eaton are limitless.
Located in Wimborne occupying a site of over 40,000 m2, we have modern 11,500 m2 office space, assembly line and test facilities. The company currently employs circa 650 people. From this facility, we work directly with various aircraft manufacturers and operators to develop, qualify, deliver, and support Air-to-Air Refuelling (AAR) and Actuation systems that must operate safely and reliably in some of the most challenging environments. Our portfolio of products, systems and services are supplied globally to various Aerospace and Defence companies including Airbus, BAE Systems, Boeing, Embraer, Lockheed Martin, MBDA and Saab; alongside over 20 Air Forces.
Our expert staff use their knowledge and training to develop new products and systems as well as support fielded systems with repair, modifications, and upgrades. We also provide 24/7 customer support. Eatons strong investment in Research and Development means that our team can explore technology boundaries providing new and enhanced capabilities to our customers. The Wimborne facility has become a ’model’ site for Eaton, completing a significant expansion in our production area to enable continued growth of the business. We will also be proud to open our own Additive Manufacturing Centre of Excellence in 2025. This growth is set to continue as new and exciting projects are set to launch from our Wimborne site.
We proactively invest in and support our people, providing continued professional and personal development alongside numerous advancement opportunities. We always see our surrounding community as a lifeline of potential talent and are an active member in STEAM with local Schools and Universities. Where possible, we source products and services locally encouraging collaboration and partnerships to build a robust supply chain for our customers. We continue to have an exciting future ahead of us; the people and company remain dedicated to building on our strong heritage and continued success in Dorset.
